Ni un paso atrás (Not a step back), the new EP by Pinpilinpussies
You can stay at the title, you can listen to the EP or you can discover the revealing phrase on the back cover of the vinyl edition. Since we discovered “Mandarinas”, the first song from Ni un paso atrás (Aloud Music, 2024), it was clear to us that distance was something that was marking Pinpilinpussies. Those more than 600 kilometers that separated Ane and Raquel were not solved by the thousands of messages and calls that two good friends can exchange.
It was necessary to go further, with what united them: composing. Create songs that filled with sensations, with personal emotions that evolved over time, with which to prove themselves as creators, beyond what they know works for them.
The rock spirit of Pinpilinpussies is still there, but why not mix it with another genre, make it your own? It was all a matter of dismantling an apparently sweet style like pop and trying some of those pieces in a different way. The result is an experiment in which rock persists and makes its flirtations with pop something wild, rabid.
Because Ni un paso atrás turns against conformism, against those everyday situations that are repeated and that suffocate us, against the deceptive idea that any past time was better. Pinpilinpussies are planted: there is no longer space not to listen to each other, to avoid human contact, from friends; It is time to vindicate yourself to explode and not ask for forgiveness as they sang in the forceful “47 seconds”
