What more weird things can happen to us? Arianne and Mario seem to say on the cover of their new album. Clinging to their instruments, like powerful magnets against misfortune and recent pain, they look at a man with the head of a rabbit who, oblivious to his own truth, looks ahead in a gesture of evident resilience. This is La Felpa, ladies and gentlemen, a look ahead without complexes or fears of a single group.

Suitcases, cigarbox and desire to make history. Arianne and Mario, DobleCapa, crossed the world in August 2018 looking for accommodation and the magic hand of Steve Albini, a producer who has worked with many of the real rock bands. There’s no lies in Electric Audio (Chicago, EEUU). Surely it keeps fewer secrets than it seems. There, the bands bare their work to the maximum and the crudeness overflows. That real sound (or is there something more real than the girl who sings freely at the end of “El que no tiene no nombre y nunca nos acordamos“?) that is so difficult to hear in the middle of the 21st century is what DobleCapa has achieved in La Felpa. A soft sonorous host that will leave you shaking.

Recorded live without their music having gone through any computer, La Felpa shows us a sincere and rabid vision of the band. Short, direct and at times choreable themes. Several of the songs include painful screams (“Piera“), indecipherable rites (“Lluvia de sapos“) and personal references to real idols (“Venimos de un lado y de otro“). All this passed through that totally recognizable sound of the cigarbox by Mario (remember, an instrument made by hand from an old cigar box), whose melodies act as light and guide, and those devilish rhythms of an Arianne that grows with each step and that make DobleCapa have become one of the most interesting and current bands to listen to.
