True to their characteristic nonconformity, Viva Belgrado return with an album that defies categorization even more than *Bellavista* did. On *Cancionero de los Cielos*, the guitars and impassioned vocals remain, but they have made room for keyboards, melodies, and even a *ranchera*—and the occasional chorus—elements previously unheard of in a band that had made progressive structures one of its hallmarks. With this record, Viva Belgrado unapologetically embrace alternative rock.
