We have had to wait no less than five years for guitarist and composer Txus Villalabeitia to return to the scene with a new release from his solo project, Losado\u2014following his debut EP, *Losado* (Bonberenea Ekintzak 2020 – Bonb 098).<\/p>\n
This hiatus comes as no surprise, however, given that the guitarist and composer from Vitoria-Gasteiz has always approached music through the emotions drawn from his personal and musical experiences over the course of his life\u2014and, by extension, his career. When one adds to this the trials\u2014typical for any independent artist\u2014involved in the complex process of composing, recording, and releasing an album today, this new EP might initially seem somber; yet, it is undoubtedly the exact opposite: a spirited display of enthusiasm and a sincere expression of his vital need to keep growing as a singer, guitarist, and composer\u2014and as a person and human being. <\/p>\n
Recorded entirely by Karlos Osinaga at the Bonberenea studio in Tolosa\u2014and once again bringing together Rafa Camis\u00f3n on drums (Gas Drummers, The Ships, Gentemayor) and Aitor Acosta on bass (Libe, Neubat, Vice Presidentes)\u2014*A pesar de los Silencios* exudes a more energetic tone than its predecessor. It possesses a vitality that seems to strive to rise above these times, when a sense of hope is so hard to come by. Emerging as an inevitable response to this reality are five new tracks; here, the vocals are more prominent and self-assured than ever, exceptionally supported by a richer, more complex sound that invites us into the unique world Losado inhabits\u2014a place where raw intensity and beauty converge, revealing themselves as clearly as they do in life itself. <\/p>\n
