Every time “Gardenia” crept into what we were listening to, we couldn’t help but wonder: how come we hadn’t discovered Caballo Muerte before? Their crushing, rabid sound, their confidence in carrying it, made us think they’d been around for so long, and nothing could be further from the truth. It was in 2023, in Vitoria-Gasteiz, when they began as a band to blend what they were passionate about. Distortion and noise, post-punk that approaches the most danceable rhythms, industrial…

And so the fall of 2024 arrived, when they performed live in the Errekaleor free neighborhood. A first for them, they repeated it on different stages while recording Caballo Muerte’s debut album in March 2025, with Ander Barriuso at NoiseStudioa (Zarautz, EH), and Oihan Lizaso on mastering.

From this emerge the seven songs that reveal Caballo Muerte in the form of an album. A debut that somehow invites you to listen to it again and again. For one simple reason: they reflect you. Because life is a succession of emotions that we struggle to recognize. Because we don’t know what’s happening to us, because we don’t want to understand it, because we deny our reality…

Song by song, Caballo Muerte explores different emotional processes, reflected in their lyrics and the way they experiment with their oppressive sound. The need to express grief in the form of beats of suppressed rage, clashing melodies, explosions of doom in their song about depression, the violence of an ode to anxiety…

The result is
 Caballo Muerte
(Aloud Music, 2025), a work so personal that it is influenced by references as diverse as Lorca and Pizarnik.

The album is co-released with Producciones Tudancas and Cosmic Tentacles, and the edition consists of 300 copies, divided into 200 copies in lime color and 100 in black 180gr. You can buy the vinyl by clicking here.
