Stylistically, <strong>Amaya <\/strong>uses her classical training as a loom to weave tapestries of sound riddled with distorted or effect-driven pianos, driven by an enigmatic and deeply moving voice.<\/p>\n\n<p>Their new album,<strong>&#8220;The Distaff<\/strong>&#8220;, funded by Creative Scotland, was released in February 2025 and received excellent reviews from magazines such as Prog, Angry Metal Guy, The Skinny, Mondosonoro, etc. The lead single, <strong>&#8220;Siphonophores<\/strong>&#8220;, was selected by Mary Anne Hobbs as Hit Reset&#8217;s track of the week, and the album was also included in the <strong>Mastered at Abbey Road<\/strong> series.<\/p>\n\n<p>His evocative songwriting and cathartic live performances have allowed him to perform at numerous international festivals and venues such as <strong>Roadburn <\/strong>(The Netherlands), <strong>Primavera Sound<\/strong> (Spain), <strong>AMFest 2022<\/strong> (Spain), <strong>Ancient Echoes<\/strong> (Germany), <strong>Rock in Bourlon<\/strong> (France), <strong>Festival Noroeste<\/strong> (Spain), <strong>Celtic Connections<\/strong> (UK), <strong>Noite Branca<\/strong> (Portugal), <strong>Ronnie Scott&#8217;s<\/strong> (UK), <strong>Brudenell Piano Session<\/strong> (UK) and <strong>CCCB <\/strong>(Spain), among many others.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Maud the Moth<\/strong> has also been invited to perform as a guest artist by <strong>Chelsea Wolfe, Kayo Dot, Anna von Hausswolff, Hexvessel and Helen Money.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>In May 2025, he toured in support of <strong>Earth <\/strong>in the UK and Ireland and will perform at ArcTanGent 2025 in August.<\/p>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n<p>Their concert at the already distant <strong>AMFest 2022<\/strong> was one of our favorites. We have seen <strong>Maud the Moth<\/strong> grow at a European level in an unstoppable way and position itself, deservedly, within the new European contemporary scene.
